Spring snowy peak!
Kokanee Mountain Zipline is just less than a month away from opening for our 2018 zipline season! After hibernating for the winter and spending all of our free time at Whitewater Ski Resort, we are getting excited for our fourth zipline season! Some important dates for May, 2018:
May 5th and 6th – Open for the weekend!
May 9th – now open 7 days a week!
May 9th- June 22nd – Locals can zipline for $79 including tax Monday-Friday, with proof of residency in the Kootenay’s (call us for more information 1-844-764-4484)
May 28th – Our third annual Community Day! (more information to come)
While we enjoying zip lining any time of the year, spring is our favourite for a few reasons.
- The views!!
While crossing the canyon four times on the tour, it gives you ample time to enjoy the views of the snow on surrounding Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park mountain tops. May and June are the best time to see these views. Before hiking season commences, ziplining gives you the opportunity to see beautiful views of the area before the snow melts! You also get a bird’s eye view of Kokanee Creek raging with spring runoff below your feet! - Weather
Spring in the Kootenay’s is a mixture between beautiful sunny days around 20 degrees Celsius and rainy days. Although, some people would think ziplining in the rain is terrible, it actually makes the zipline a little faster and gets you outside soaring above the trees! Just make sure to bring a rain jacket. - You can end the day at Ainsworth Hot Springs
Only 25 minutes down Highway 3A is the relaxing and beautiful Ainsworth Hot Springs. Take a dip in the cold plunge followed by a nice cruise around the caves and you won’t be able to help the smile spread across your face. With a new restaurant at the Hot Springs, enjoy views of the pool and Kootenay Lake while you try something from their new delicious menu and look at all your zip line pictures!
